Essau welcomes Jacob warmly. Bygones are bygones.
What is it about Jacob though? He still doesn’t quite trust essau and settles far from him, having said he will follow. He also doesn’t go to bethel, where God commanded him to go. He just has this sneaky “play your cards close to your chest” thing.
Interesting character. The encouragement of the chapter is how both men have changed. Jacob has shown such remorse over his tricking if essau, and essau has been so forgiving.
